Annunciation's History and Administration

On November 16, 1996, Bishop Thaddeus Peplowski, Bishop of the Buffalo-Pittsburg Diocese, ordained Rev. Father Charles Henderson to the priesthood. On that same day, Bishop Peplowski granted Father Henderson permission to establish the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas.

The Parish began with four families praying the Divine Liturgy in a small two-room building. From 1996 to 1998 the Parish continued to grow and by 1999 was in need of larger space. In 1999, the Board of Directors of LaClinica Amistad, Inc. donated property located at 1501 Tampico Street which consisted of a fully furnished dental clinic and four city lots.
